New Things

A few things and people underwent some changes recently. This chair, which Micah used as her own personal canvas, which had 6 years worth of food stains on it

became this:

This formerly red AND pastel green kitchen with very dark wood cabinets, a built in oven and original 1956 range

became this. (The color isn't done justice in the picture. It is a nice silvery shade of sage. I am not normally a sage person but I am so glad I chose this color in the kitchen. Soon there will be valances made of the same fabric as the chairs.)



Jordan's head of hair went from this, which by the way, when stretched out was all the way down to her waist:


to this:



Jeremiah became all boy seemingly overnight.



He loves sunglasses AND his daddy.



Jordan became obsessed with boots. She wore these two-sizes-too-small cow rainboots with everything.


So I bought her these one-size-too-big pink cowboy boots which she now wears with everything. Everything. She even wore them with her Easter dress. Pics of that to come later.

Jordan outgrew naps, except the occassional catnap during a movie.

Micah is learning how to dress herself.

She helps me clean up around the house.

What hasn't changed is her love of books.

And for the first time since DECEMBER, there isn't a bottle of this in the fridge.

At one point all three of my kids had either an ear or sinus infection (or both in Jordan's case.)
My next post will have more pics of my Micah girl. She doesn't let me take pictures of her. She likes to see me take pics of other people, but doesn't want them done of her. But I got her over Easter weekend :)

Edited to add: After posting this, the medicine picture should be updated as JW is on yet another round of meds. It has since been determined that he will be having tubes, his adnoids removed, and allergy testing done. Poor bub. He has had sinus issues and/or ear issues since December. I am ready for him to be well.

My Little Firefly

This post is long overdue, but last month Jordan was a firefly in her ballet school's Easter performance. Every year they do a rendition of Narnia and every year it is powerful. Last year, as a cherub, Jordan kind of flittered around not really doing what she was supposed to do. Oh what a difference a year makes. This year she was right on que with everything. She knew exactly what she was supposed to do, where she was to stand, and who she was to look at. It is actually quite amazing how much she grew in a year. Here are a few pics. They are bad. I mean, really bad. I have no idea how to get a decent picture in an auditorium.

Quiet Time

During my very brief (it is always brief when you are a mom) time with the Lord, I stumbled onto this verse. It is so fitting, especially after just celebrating Easter. God is good, isn't he? Who else can say they serve a God like this? A God who stoops down to his people. A God who counts our very tears, who lays out our paths before us, who gives wisdom to those who ask and grants salvation to the very worst of sinners. I would choose no other God and am so glad he chose me.

"The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was noone, he was appalled that there was noone to intervene; so his own arm worked salvation for him, and his own righteousness sustained him. He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. According to what THEY have done, so will HE repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes; for HE will repay the islands their due." Isaiah 59:15b-18

You know, all of my kids have Bible verses that go with each name. It is a way for me to pray for them and claim something for their lives. Maybe #4 should be Isaiah.
